The war is over

The war is over

Come lay your head down
Here on my pillow
The war is over
your heart so weary

An empty ocean
My long distance runner
The war is over
The pain still lingers on and
On and on like a constant river
It flows on and on
Through the deepest valley
From mountains of snow
Melting bigger
Lay down your arms
The war is over

it never changes
it may seem that way
lost with a lost cause
black wind come carry you far away

a true reflection
of your long lost beauty
this absolution
now and tomorrow
We can make it I know
Look to the horizon
A sign of hope
The tide is turning
A trail of smoke
The sun is rising
A bird cries somewhere
And everything matters
running down that hill
naked like children
lay down your arms
the war is over
